Grassroots Football Against Racism (GFMR) is a project, a movement, driven by
The primary school administration of Malmö City and Malmö FF. In September we had the opportunity to participate in
GFMR's kickoff where 230 children and teachers from grade 6 and from different schools in Malmö participated.
The kickoff discussed children's rights and the equal value of all. During one of the day's activities
the children with the help of our material "I am a child. I have rights." choose will articles in
Convention on the Rights of the Child they think are most important to be respected. This is what the children in Malmö thought:
- it is important that everyone knows about children's rights
- that all children are equally worthy, regardless of gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability or
faith
- that it is important to feel safe at school
- that it is important that children feel good
Primary School Football Against Racism is run by children's rights strategist and best interests of the child hero Gustavo
Nazar. In his and his colleagues' encounters with pupils, a power and will is created that drives them forward
towards a more equal society in which all children, according to their personalities, abilities, desires and
have an equal right to be heard and seen and to create their future.
