On April 18-19, we participated in My Human Rights at Barnrättsdagarna in Karlstad, together with a thousand others who work with and for children's rights. At our stand, visitors could test and get more information about Barnrättsspelet.se from our board member Ragna Wallmark.
The Children's Rights Game is based on the articles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and was developed together with children aged 10-13 with the support of the Swedish National Heritage Foundation. Our ambition with the game is for the children to gain knowledge and understand what the articles mean in and for their own lives. Knowing your basic human rights gives you the feeling that you are worth taking seriously. With the help of the game, children get to try using the articles of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in a number of challenging real-life situations. They encounter everything from inconsiderate teachers and politicians to ignorant parents and friends. There are groping relatives and bullying.
The Children's Rights Game is primarily intended for use in middle school education, but also by leisure educators, sports leaders, children's rights strategists and all other adults who encounter children in their work. The game is accompanied by a comprehensive guide with tips on working methods and exercises on the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
